That's interesting Ross, wouldn't think they would be that good.

Cheers all. Got the Hankooks on the front and they are awesome. Strange thing is I have 45's on the front and 40's on the rear. Least this will give me a chance to finally have even tyres!

They were getting quite a bit of good press in Europe so I gave them a go (at the time only £55 for a 17" tyre!). I think Continental have something to do with them too
To prove how impressed I was with them I put a set on the front of my van when they were due to be replaced a year later - and even in 19" form they were fantastic. Shame the 19" versions were £105 a tyre!
I can't see me putting anything else on the Astra for the foreseeable future

Apart from the uneveness of having two different sizes front to rear. I have 40's on the front and 45's on the rear and it pulls all over the place.

Your right Kirk, it does lurch about the place! Just checked and they are both 45's but the first number is different.
Can someone clarify what size I need..
205/45/ZR17 88W Hankooks on the front
215/45/ZR17 87Y Avon on the rear.

That's what I have read too, 40 profiles can be fitted but just make for a slightly harder ride.

Thanks folks.
Can anyone recommend these? http://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s457p...R17_88V_XL_TL_
Pretty sure these were on my mk2 alloys when I got them (Nangkangs, not sure about the model) and they got me around Silverstone in the wet! Just seem a bit too cheap though. Could possibly stretch my budget to £150 for 2.
