Tyre recommendations

After some tyres that are not expensive, but will last. Not concerned about high speed performance or road noise as the car is only used for gentle runs now. Currently got ZZ3's on the rear and Hankooks on the front and they were both excellent, but pricey. Budget is around £100 for the pair.

You'll be lucky getting two decent tyres for £100 tbh. £70 a corner is cheap for a decent brand.

I'd agree with the above, for a £100 budget for 2 tyres part worns are the only real option.

I got some Westlake SV308s from Nationwide through Tyre Shopper, worked out at £52 a corner fitted. According to the reviews and new fangled ratings they are on a par with tyres at twice the price.

They are still a bit fresh to give full feedback but seem good for everyday use and have been great in the wet.

ETA: Have just checked Tyre Shopper and they don't have the Westlakes any more, still seem to be available elsewhere but for a few quid more.

Smile

I just bought these off Camskill Hankooks.

Know they are a bit more than your £50 a corner, but you will get the savings back cause of the high miles you can get out of them.

I too am using the Hemlock vented evo, and may be out if your price bracket it certainly is an excellent Tyre, I'm getting very good mileage out of mine even with my camber :-)

I have these on my Astra and totally love them

http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.p...mpaign=froogle

(Wrong size I know but you get the idea)

I bought them as a budget winter tyre when we had the really bad snow in 2009 with the aim of just having them on over the winter, but they have surpassed all my expectations and 20k miles later they're still on the car. I like them so much that after last winter I never bothered taking them off and they've been on constantly for well over a year now.

Great wear, fantastic wet weather grip and really progressive in the dry. Unusually for the type of tyre they're quite quiet too
