Had mine done when I bought it, 50k on the clock, 54 reg, but I thought if you push the power up a bit you might as well start off with new belts. They have to be done sometime and a least you don't have to worry about that side of the engine.

I swear I read somewhere that it was every 48k miles, as most if not all mk2's use an auto tensioner instead of the manual?

Manual is a lot higher... Although I could be wrong!

yup as said it is 48K for the 24\45 era cars, tho there are a few early ones with an auto tensioner in place (and in some cases laters ones when they were rifling the parts bin i think!)
