Personally I wouldn't touch any car over 100k mileage. Generally it is a car just waiting to break.

I would rather have a 120k mile car with a FSH than an 80k car thats hardly ever seen a service.

Smile

If a car has been regularly maintained and serviced the engine will easily be good for at least 200k.

That's a well cheap 180, for the money they are asking!

I accept that reasoning but I still wouldn't touch one. Even with a FSH there are still going to be parts starting to fail that were probably overlooked or not included in services.

Budget and financial status sometimes dictates what we can afford at the time. I wouldn't baulk at that mileage whatsoever but that's just me, afterall it is just nuts and bolts. If I could afford a new car every couple of years then I could agree with you.

When I was racing Audi's we never built brand new engines, we always sourced those that had done around 100k. Reason being new engines were too tight and would not last very long whereas 'loose' engines would go on forever and would never need rebuilding. Not all cars are the same but in this intance experience proved otherwise.

My Discovery has done nearly 130k and still going very well. *touches wood*
