My MGZS Storybook big detail (PICHEAVY)

Afternoon everyone, I haven't posted my MG on here yet so I thought I would do a write up from when I got her to now.

Having owned a few rovers in the past they are not the best made car but i always had a soft spot for the new shape zs I managed to find one at Christmas, Nice low miles 120 but with the 180 kit, Wish I had got the 180 now but I use it as a work car so petrol is key.

Anyway on with the pictures.

Here is when I first picked her up pictures from the ad

I went about getting some new little bits a pieces

New washer jets the MG ones are really bad so a set of mist ones

New wipers

Also had some of the rear carpet in the boot hanging so picked up some new clips

Before

After

New front badge

Before

After

Never like the rear badge to so decided to de badge the rear

Before

After

Next on my list there was two scuffs on the front bumper one was my fault the other was there when i got it.

Couple of the damage

During

After

Scuffs all compete it was time to sort out the saggy rear bumper thiunk this is a common issue for the ZS so

Here it is before

Bumper off

Clips modified

While waiting for help to get the bumper back on i took some metal polish to the exhaust

Before

After

Help arrived bumper back on

Afters

After sorting out the bumper i came across a set of the 180 calipers and carriers on ebay managed to win this lot for ?50

All cleaned up and painted

New bolts for the disks

Decided on new disks and pads so got these quite smart black disks

And fitted

While the wheels were off i decided to give them a clean on the insides

Megs wheel brightner iron x and tardis was used

Iron x at work

Tardis for the remain spots

And clean

They wont stay like this but makes future cleaning a bit easier

This weekend i thought i would try and get the car cleaned properly on the outside its been through a few hard car washes and was looking very dull. So

After a quick sort out of my garage few pics

I got cracking

Badges cleaned and side vents Megs apc and elite brushes

Rinsed over then tardis and iron x

Iron x at work hard to see on red

Foamed off

Clay time when i first got the car it had been in storage for a while so the paint was really rough i knew it was going to be a long task just claying. New clay bar

This was the result after doing the top of the boot

about 2 hours later i had a lovely smooth car. Dried and ready for polish

Megs G220 with final finish on a finishing pad seemed to give enough correction so opted for that combo.

Result after 1 pass on the boot

A few particular bits i knew i would have to step up the pad polish combo

Before

After

Before

After

Not may other pics of the polishing i just wanted to crack on and not keep stopping. Its not 100% but its a good lot of the swirls out the roof could do with another going over but I was getting tired

Once finished the correction stage I topped off with a coat of this

Still had some sunlight left so here are the afters hope you enjoyed this comments good and bad welcome.

And last one when I got home

Thanks for looking guys enjoy

Nice, love the colour. The 180 is great but makes you cry when you watch the gauge going down.

Very good work so far, but it never ends. i'm always finding bits to keep me busy on my MK2. some fogs now to finish the front maybe?

Your workshop is pretty awesome. And my 180 alwyas returns about 28.9MPG which i'm more than happy with.

Yeah that's not to bad, maybe after a while with this I'll get a 180. Not to fussed about the fogs will never use them, thing is now just keep it mechanically sound
