Should be picking up a ZT on Friday

Finally decided to get a ZT, Mk2 180's are so hard to come by and there's also stiff competition for them. Plus, I decided to keep the TF so I've still got that as my fun car.

Anyway, the ZT. £1400 Mk2 1.8t. Have 67k on the clock, the engine was changed at 60k and the new engine at the time had 50k on it. Turbo has also been replaced.

It's down in Birmingham, so a canny travel to pick it up. train was going to cost £98, but luckily someone that works for Cross Country got me an all day ticket for £10 so it's costing next to nowt to get down to Birmingham.

The current owner has done 7k in the since the engine change, and make regular trips from Birmingham to Leeds, Newcastle, London and Norwich, so I have confidence that the car is a good runner.

Here's some picks...

Plans for the car are to get it remapped to somewhere between 190-200bhp. Fit a Mk1 spoiler to the boot and twin exhausts.

I want the rear of the car to look something like this one...

The facelift looks more modern I think, but the Mk1 looks more sportier.

You mean... "Fingers crossed the engine doesn't overheat and break down half way home"

I always buy a car thinking the worse will happen. Engine drop out, gearbox goes bang, etc.

Then if it doesnt its a bonus, if it does, you are ready for it.

I've never been in the position to be able to afford a brand new car, in fact my ZS derv was the newest car I have ever bought. But all the cars have been fun, always a handy scrap yard for bits to keep them going. (thats apart from a Hillman Hunter, even after putting a 1725 engine and a brake servo in it, arrghhhhhhhh horrid car) Even the Hunter we got £1000 off a minimum part exchange deal on a Mini Metro, so that turned out OK.

Just take it easy and relax in the new motor, and you will be fine.

Don't get Alcantara. They look good new, but soon go bobbly. The best seat covers are the Monacos.
