What's a VIS indicator do?

Sorry for being a bit Dim (God's Fault, he made me that way)
But what is a VIS indicator, what's it do, and what's the benefits of having one?

Ah, cheers for that. Years ago, I used to drive a 16v Astra which had an oil pressure gauge. I spent more time watching that than the road. Sounds like the thing to have though.

I agree, If he has any, I'd be willing to shell out 30 beer tokens for one, provided it comes with the VIS instalations instructions equivalent of "Windows for Dummies".
